I love this area’s version of the police-arrest mug shot.
They’re iconic in the U.S. Stand ’em up against a wall and put a placard in front of them.
Crime stories in papers here are much more intense. Officials pose with ski masks and machine guns, and often you’re standing over the stuff you stole, or the drugs you were smuggling, or whatever. They have a way of making culprits looks so powerless before the long arm of the law. Or is it largo brazo de la ley.
Anyway, I promise to be a good boy if I’m allowed a visa. Just sayin’. I’m happy that someone is keeping Yucatán safe.
