I know, I know, be patient. Well, with this time on my hands, maybe it’s time to reflect.
It’s Day 3 in St. Louis and I’ve completely forgotten about Mérida. I’m not thinking of Mérida at all, and it’s never entering my mind that today is a critical day in the purchase of our home. We need one more signature to go forward. Without it, we’re sunk.
But I’m not thinking of that. I’m at the gateway to the American West, and I’ve got lot of people to meet, and I have to devote my time to workshops and socializing with my peers. We have a great lineup of industry professionals who influence our field. I’m also on the board that runs this event, and believe me, these events don’t run themselves.

How much longer that my good cheer last?
We’re still in a holding pattern. I am assured that we are on track, but a discrepancy in the paperwork, which I insisted be cleared up before we take possession, is in the hands of the city’s slow-motion bureaucracy. (New tag for the blog: bureaucracy!) I wired money to the real estate agent some time ago, but we’re holding off handing it over to the homeowner until this discrepancy is resolved. [Read more…]
