Virgin Atlantic made a bit of a show out of announcing its new London-Cancún route.
Here, decked out as Don Johnson as he appeared in Miami Vice, Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic Airways, clowns around the The Associated Press after pretending to capture supermodel/actress Karolina Kurkova.
Strangely, though, the photo op for The Associated Press took place in Miami Beach, and not anywhere on the Yucatán Peninsula. Why the Miami theme to announce flights that go direct from Great Britain to Mexico? I have no idea.
But who cares. Another flight to the region is good news. Now, let’s all meditate and send our vibrations to the airlines and repeat “Fly direct from New York to Mérida, fly direct from New York to Mérida.”
